The April meeting will be on no fooling April 1st at Noodles at 1900hes, lets start having a bigger turn out as our
numbers a dwindling. Hope Rex gets feeling better our thoughts are with you. They found out that Mike had
contracted e-ploury a common bacteria in third world countries, but is every rare here, now they will start treating it.
GET READY FOR THE GREAT SHOOT OUT AT HOCH NOON ON THE 22nd of march at the team house at Mike
Edwards place on Old Emmet Road just of HWY 44 between Middleton and the Interstate, go North and just past the
county line on the left you will see a red barn on the hill to your left and old style saloon, you are their. Bring your
fire power as their will be targets and whistle pigs to shoot at, Hamburg’s and polish sausage will be cooking, and
beverages. This will be for the men we will have another barbecue for later in the year for all. This is chance to see
the Team House complete so have a good turnout, there will be no business conducted just a fun time ,that’s why
we have the meeting on the first of April.
Got some pictures from Vahan will bring to the meeting, they are getting along fine and accomplishing a lot, they will
be heading back in April. Remember to bring your building fund tickets to the meeting so we can get them mailed of,
the chapter gets a rebate, so let’s take a chance and turn them in.
Remember the meeting on the 1st and our shoot out on the 22nd, let’s have a big turnout for both events.
It's to dam bad that the chapter plans to do something then no one shows up. A giant tip of the Beret to Mike and
Lynn for their work in getting things sent up for our first spring outing the shoot out on Sat the 22nd of March, that
was attended by myself and a tip of the Beret to Dana Shuck, who after almost a box of ammo got his rifle zeroed in.
Mike had set up targets at various ranges , moved the horses had is 4 wheeler their to check targets Lynn made a
big potatoes salad and pasta salad hat were both good and Mike had purchased hamburgers and polish sausages
that were grilled, plus beer and soft drinks. I want to express my concern on the support we get from the chapter
members those that were at the meeting when we decided on the date, we had previously discussed doing this at
the Feb meeting so it's not that no one knew about and those at the meeting had agreed upon the date. E-mails
were sent out as a reminder and I personally notified two people who like to shoot but seemed to ignore the
message with no response. I believe at the April 1st meeting we will be discussing to things, a new President as
nobody seems to want to do our activities and possibly dis banding or putting the chapter on hold, as it seems
everyone is tired of the Tuesday meeting and doing any activities. It is too bad as Mike has been working hard on
the team house which we never had and things were looking up for our summer barbecues and fall zero your rifle
times.
Vaghn and Zoe are on their way back from Haiti having accomplished a lot this trip, it will be good to hear of his time
at the next meeting. Note for Mike and Dana just read the first couple lines then skip to Vaughn, as we already
discussed some of this.

LETTING DOWN – RECIPE FOR FAILURE

When WWll began we had a standing army of only 175,000 that was poorly equipped and low in morale.  By the
end of the war four years later it was the best-equipped army in the world and stood proudly at 8,000,000 strong
and drawn from ALL levels of society.
By the time the Korean war (a police action with no “police”) began, the army was once again, after only five
short years, low in numbers, poorly trained, poorly equipped, and soft.  The army, and the Congress responsible for
it’s support, had become complacent and lulled to sleep by the false notion that no one would dare start a war and if
they did a single weapon, the A-bomb or H-Bomb, could and would guarantee peace or a quick victory-so funds
would be better spent on vote getting, popular social programs or pork barrel projects at home than on a ready
army.
Jesus, the wandering healer and proclaimer of “Good News” began a revolution in relationships, thinking and
behavior with a standing army of only twelve with probably a couple hundred camp following wannabies.  It grew into
an army of hundreds of thousands.  As people became more accepting or tolerant of it they began to slide into a
divided force, poorly trained and equipped for the battle it faced, and lulled into a false sense of peace with no unity
or esprit de corps.  The result was a weak church with weak faith that allowed for the rise and conquest by Islam.  It
was too weak and divided to fight and win so many simply gave up or gave in.  They had been Christians, followers
of Jesus Christ in name only or by the accident of birth.  Their faith in Christ was not deep enough to face
persecution or to fight for.
Today we face similar enemies: complacency, lack of depth in our faith (sure I believe in “the Great Jumpmaster
In the Sky”), “New Age” philosophies, division and lack of unity within the body of Christ (the church), the worship of
materialism, focus on oneself and a revived radical Islam that won’t be satisfied until we either convert or die just as
it was in it’s expansive years.
Like our volunteer army today, the best equipped and trained fighting force in the world, Jesus Christ continues
to recruit volunteers whose primary desire is to “Be All They Can Be”, to fight the good fight against the world’s evil
(if you don’t believe in “evil” then Hitler, Stalin, HoChi Minh, and the Khmer Rouge were angels) and to share “the
Good News” that God loved enough to give His very best – His Son Jesus Christ that we might be reconciled to Him
and enjoy the blessings that come with being called “a Child of God”  For those who volunteer and who put forth
their best He will not only fully equip you for life’s battles, but like real leaders of old he will lead the way.  Fort
Benning didn’t invent the phrase “Follow Me” – Jesus did.  Pay ain’t always the hottest.  The fight may be bitter, hard
and long – but final VICTORY is assured and the retirement package can’t be beat.  You won’t need to trample over
your buddies on your rush to the recruiting station.  Like Special Forces, volunteers are in short supply, and the
drop out rate is high.  There are no medals or campaign ribbons, “atta boys”, or badges – but what a brotherhood.
You’ll look back on life with satisfaction and one day hear the words of the C.O. “Well done, good and faithful
soldier”.
